Why I Started Writing: Sharing the Ideas That Saved Me — Andy Yao

I didn’t start my blog because I wanted attention or followers. I started it because philosophy genuinely changed my life. It pulled me out of anxiety, helped me reflect instead of react, and taught me how to walk through daily stress without losing myself.

At some point, I realized I didn’t want to keep this to myself. So I created an Instagram page, a journal, and a website—small spaces where I could post thoughts, quotes, and reflections that might help someone else the way they helped me.

Writing has become a practice. A way of organizing my mind. A way of transforming difficult experiences into something meaningful. But most of all, it’s a way of giving back. If even one person reads a post and feels a little less overwhelmed, then the writing has done its job.

And honestly, that’s what I’m proud of: not that I changed my own life, but that I’m trying to help others change theirs too.
